Dear quARTerly Reader,
quARTerly ads are now generating attendance, enrollment and sales. The
effectiveness of the latter is more easily charted because the buyer refers
directly to the art as advertised, and the artist then reports the success of
their ad.
Ad rates are designed only to pay for printing and distribution. This 9th issue
will come close to meeting the printing cost. The earned income of any issue is
the basis for how many copies are printed. Artists, galleries and art centers
support quARTerly with advertising. There is no salary paid, nor profit made in
producing this magazine.
quARTerly is not supported by foundations, or by our local government arts
agencies, nor even particularly acknowledged. Perplexing as the latter may be,
it is inconsequential. Your interest as a reader, subscriber, or advertiser is
all that is required to sustain quARTerly as a service resource to our grass
roots visual arts industry. Each issue is a magical revelation of that
actuality. I thank you for reading quARTerly. Please share it with your friends.
Even though quARTerly is available freely in area galleries and art centers,
consider subscribing. Your subscription fee is credited directly to the ad
account of the art center of your choice, enabling them to publicize events with
less strain on their survival budgets. As subscriber, your copy arrives at your
home a week prior to distribution.
